Out in the fields...

On Monday, dad was off work and it just happened to be the height of strawberry season. So we took a fun family trip to Washington Farms in Watkinsville. Here I am telling dad which ones to pick from the comfort of my baby sling.

Through lots of hard work under the hot sun, and just enough encouragement and direction from me, mom and dad picked a whole bunch of beautiful strawberries. Ever the bargain hunters, m&d brought their basket from last year and saved a whole dollar. We got an entire gallon of fresh ripe strawberries for a mere $8! And that's not counting all the berries that were intercepted before they got to the basket. Not bad! Unfortunately, I'm not on solids yet so I didn't get to try them. But strawberry milk for a few days is a decent deal, I guess. Can't wait for next year! Here is our basket when we were halfway done:

And this is the end of our trip to the farm. As you can see from my face, I was sad to leave. Or maybe I was thinking my parents are jerks for making me stick my face through a cow head. I can't remember now.

And after a long day (or long half hour) workin' the fields, we farmer boys needed a bath. And she wouldn't be a thorough mommy if she didn't document that too.

All that hard work makes a baby tired. But not so tired that I close both eyes.... (okay this is actually not from strawberry day, but it's an excuse to use the natural narrative to post a cute picture of me sleeping. I hope no one minds)
